After mocking the official warnings and user testimonies (in the manner of Penny Arcade), I done gone and broke the shade on my ceiling light.
I cannot emphasise enough the need of Wii owners to read both the Japanese safety manual and, more importantly, its previously lost pages. The Gremlins warning is my favourite.

I am sure you can come up with a great description of the breakage everytime someone asks. Maybe another accident could even up the shade?
